About me

I am a London based DJ, musician, producer and sound engineer.

I was born and raised in the heart of Tokyo, where I have experienced the deep club culture from the late 80’s to mid 90’s. I left Japan in ’97 to search for the meaning of life after dropping out my philosophy course at university. I travelled to the USA, Australia, South East Asia, India and Nepal then arrived in the UK in 1999.

As soon as I arrived, I got involved in the vibrant London’s music scene and started DJing in various clubs in London and the other UK cities as well as in the EU.

My music style is a smooth mix of soulful, jazzy and percussive tunes beyond the genre, strictly vinyl only. I have collaborated with Gilles Peterson, Snowboy, Quantic, Sofrito, Nostalgia77, Dom Servini (WahWah45s), Nik Weston (Mukatsuku) to name but a few.

I was the co-founder and the resident DJ for the legendary club event “Afrobeat Vibration” alongside Dele Sosimi who was the keyboardist from the Fela Kuti’s Egypt 80 and Femi Kuti’s Positive Force

Also, I have a project called “Afrobuddha” with my fellow DJ/Producer Kay Suzuki. We have broadcasted a number of shows on NTS radio and had an appearance on Boiler Room.

Currently, I am working on a Ghanaian music project with Afla Sackey, a master percussionist from Ghana. The first album WONO is out from Olindo Records.
