It’s a part of Innervisions Festival featuring Van Morrison, Gilberto Gil, Thievery Corporation, Robert Glasper and more, Fela’s former manager Rikki Stein has curated this special Afrobeat event with the mighty Dele Sosimi Afrobeat Orchestra, Afrikan Boy, Bumi Thomas, Amy True and myself as a DJ at my favourite venue the EartH in Hackney on Friday 5 July.

I can’t believe that it has been 10 years already! I still clearly remember the first night, sweaty and gritty session at The Empowering Church. It was a legendary venue but unfortunately no longer exist… But now we are resided in The Jazz Cafe to keep our traditions going. The spirt of Fela is still alive and well!
